July has been one of my busiest and varied months to date providing DJ services with weddings, corporate events and a university graduation party. And it isn’t over yet.
The story starts at Three Choirs Vineyard in Wickham where we celebrated Laura and Neil’s big day. It was another perfect summer wedding amongst the vines and I helped end the day with a good mix of tunes from the 80s, 90s and more recent times. I also remixed the song they wanted for their first dance to suit their purposes better.
Laura left a review on my facebook page saying I had “listened to what we wanted and gave us what we needed to have a perfect evening” and you can read the genuine, un-edited comments from other couples if you follow the link above.
The following weekend we headed off to the Isle Of Wight for a series of corporate parties where we entertained groups from IBM, PWC and Cranfield School Of Management. The latter were an international crowd featuring delegates from Russia, Bulgaria, Italy and Brazil. These parties require a little bit of research to make sure we’re carrying the most popular songs in their respective countries and you might be unsurprised to discover Despacito featured in the top 5 of most.
Last week we were back at Three Choirs Wickham for a Spanish themed graduation party to help Matthew, his friends and family celebrate his 1st class honours.
It was great to be working with Sarah from Swit Swooo and her magic mirror created a lot of fun memories for everyone.
Finally last weekend I was at Balmer Lawn in Brockenhurst for Hayley and Aarons wedding.
I’ve been a customer of Aaron and his family for a few years and was flattered he asked to become a customer of mine.
The bride and her hens surprised the groom with a special performance which he enjoyed every moment of (as you can clearly see).
It was nice to be back at Balmer Lawn and see how much the function suite has changed since the owners invested heavily in a refurbishment a few years ago. I’ll be back there in September for another booking which has come via word of mouth recomendation from a previous client.
The month concludes with another visit to Three Choirs on Friday for the wedding of Laura and Matt, a couple with a very strong idea of what they do and don’t want musically. I’ve had to source quite a few hip hop tracks which initially proved to be a challenge because most compilation albums only include album versions but luckily I have been able to either source “clean” radio mixes or edit my own versions of the songs. As the next generation of couples in their early 20s start to marry tracks by artists like DMX and Lil Jon will be requested more requently.
Finally on Saturday I’m back on the sand with Bournemouth Beach Weddings for the future Mr & Mrs Hardwicke.
The music will be mostly 00’s to now and I know I’ll be able to give them a good night, leaving Matt the groom with nothing else to worry about apart from the weather.
August is going to be really busy as my team and I are in demand providing DJ services for 15 weddings with amazing venues like Stanwell House, Horsebridge Station, Highcliffe Castle, Burley Manor Barns, Three Choirs Wickham Vineyard, De Vere New Place, Bournemouth Beach and Lainston House plus a couple of marquees in private gardens.
I’m doing the majority of those events myself but whichever one of us you’ve booked you will always get the same smart looking equipment with uplighting for the venue provided as part of the fee.
For rates and availability please get in touch and tell us about your expectations for the wedding party you want.
